This is a video of both loading screens for the Atari Translator.When Atari released its XL line of 8-bit computers, they introduced some compatibility issues with software originally written for the 400 and 800. This was a result of changes made to the operating system and was almost exclusively limited to 3rd party software.To correct the problem, Atari began distributing the "Atari Translator."Essentially, the Translator just loaded the original 400/800 OS over the one built-in to the computer. It was used not only with the XL line, but also the XE line. When loaded, the Translator would display one of two splash screens. As far as I know, it was random which one it would choose. (When I was a kid, I liked the second one on this video better and always hoped that one would appear!)Ran on an Atari 130XE and recorded through a TV Capture Card.
